About route

Fažana is the starting point of this route. Riding through this toursitic place we’ll be passing through mediterranean landscape full of olive grove and forest trails which combine Fažana and Vodnjan, a small city of roman age, and there you can find medieval sights, gotic veneziania and baroque style, small churches like St. Jakov, St. Foška, St. Blaž – we noted the early Romanesque parish church that holds many of artistic and cultural works, relics and sacral art, further we noted old mansions in the center of the city, and the highest belfry in Istria.

There we’ll be taking a brake at “Kažun park”, the biggest concentration of “kažun” in the Mediteranean, which is like an out door museum of old stone houses made for tools storage, builded in drywall technique, which is known as a witness of the milenium where locals delt with agriculture, especially olive and vineyard culture.

Riding further the trail which is 80% macadam and 20% aspahlt, we’ll be arriving in Fažana, again enjoying the scenery of olive groves and vineyards.
